Animals in the city

Buenos Aries

When the city is turning too hot in the summer, I love finding places like this. A place to admire nature, see animals, and of course, take a lot of pictures. Eco Park is not a zoo in that sense. They only have animals that have been victims of illegal trades or pets and can’t be brought back to the wild. But they also host animals that are on the brink of extinction. To teach the public about these animals and try to preserve them for future generations. I want to live in a world where these places don’t have to exist. But sadly, I do.

Some of the animals that roam free in the park are peacocks and maras (in Spanish) that cross my path many times, and I got the opportunity to take some photos of them.

There are also a lot of bird species like the Flamingos and Emus.

How to get to the Eco Park?

There are a lot of buses you can take to the park depending on your accommodation’s location. If your accommodation is close to the Mitte Line, I would recommend the train to get there. It’s cool on hot days and fast. The station is called 3 de febrero and gives you a reason to stroll through the beautiful rose gardens (Parque El Rosedal) before you enter the park.

What to eat?

There are several food trucks within the Eco Park, but they are not vegetarian-friendly at all. I would suggest that you get a bite on your way back to the train station after your visit or bring a picnic. There are several benches and nice seating areas within the park.
